Comedy for fun...

The very first Toronto sketch comedy festival is gearing up to take on the city.

The Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival just announced its line-up for the November 23 to 27 event.

Sketch comedy practitioners established and emerging artists from across Canada and the United States will be performing for five full days Gladstone Hotel on Queen West. For a full run down on scheduled performers go to http://www.torontosketchfest.com/.

A pre-festival kick off and charity fundraiser is scheduled for Wednesday, November 23 with “Other People's Stuff 6”, a unique Toronto tradition, showcasing the best Toronto comics performing other people's bits. The Festival officially starts on Thursday, November 24 with an opening night party at the Gladstone Hotel with performances running until Sunday, November 27.

Sheduled events include a Second City Masterclass; the Humber College School of Comedy workshop; “Dinner and a Movie,” a video sketch compilation show featuring short films from Wisconsin, Ohio and Prince Edward Island; and finally, the Steam Whistle Sketch-u-Bator, a closed door event for festival participants.

On the Sunday there will be an opportunity for participating artists to pitch an idea or audition for industry pros and receive immediate feedback on their work.
