This is Karl Mohr

Where did you grow up? Why?
As a boy I grew up in northern Ontario, near the north in a little speck of a zone called Chisholm Township - roughly triangulated between the quaintnesses of Astorville, Callander and Powassan. The growing up was suggested but not necessary complete in its effect.

How long have you been in Toronto?

Off and on for ten years or so.  Forays have been made overseas and to the sticks - trying to find some alternative to Toronto.  It has a way of sucking one back, oddly safe still, and reliable.

What keeps you busy?
The rough and tumble life of a media professional.  Composing music, producing the music of others. Databases and backend for websites. Transcriptions.  Sleuthing.  Organizing.  Whatever calls.

What do you do for a living?

In living I work, and in working I live.  Between the two I attempt to smell the roses or create rosey smells.

Dream job? Why?
Court composer for a filthy rich art patron.  The perks are self-evident.

If I say jump?
Fck you - let me think about it for a few months.

What do you give back to the No Fly Zone?
Cheap performances to which no one attends, at least for a spell.  Flying should never be banned. That which becomes prohibitive is an end in itself.

What can we do to make Toronto a "world class" city?
Stop questioning.  Toronto already is.

Are you an artist?
Unfortunately, yes.

Hands or feet?
Ouch.  Feet.

How does art influence your life?
I make the assumption that we are art.  Those who choose not to be, are still art, despite their resistance.  By living, and by being, we influence art as art influences us.

Worst public moment?
Being dragged along, wiped out on my bike, by a muscle car; Princess Street, Kingston; Saturday night, full promenade in effect.

Who are your favourite Toronto artists?
David Waldman is the best photographer in the world.  Mara Ravins is a filmmaker who bedazzles the mind with challenges to preconceptions.

Two Beatles left: Ringo and Paul. Who wins in a smackdown?
Mick and Keith walk away without caring.

Follow up: Favourite Ringo song?
Sigh...  John Lennon was a threat to American politics.  Is that something worth mentioning here?

Mon Chi Chi, My Little Pony, Barbie? discuss.
Hmmm... Lego:  minimalist, abstract structures coercing the imagination without boundaries.  New Lego sucks because of tendency to pre-package imagination.  Old Lego rocks (including Duplo) for the converse reason. If the discussion is pop culture, then i think my tag would be Lego Star
Wars Playstation, that's enough for an eight volume set.

Do you have a website site?
