Get The BigFix on an Upcoming Charity Showcase Local musician and sound engineer, Stuart Wilson, had just launched his independent label bigfix and was looking for a good way to celebrate. Deciding to take a philanthropic route, Wilson decided to have a big party that would benefit the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund.
“Music has been a constant source of joy for me,” says Wilson, who moved to Toronto six years ago from England, “I wanted to donate to the Music Therapy Trust to help others, especially for those who most need it, have the benefit of music in their life.” Wilson has been operating as bigfix for many years now, but just finished working on a business plan to launch his label. The event, being held at The Smiling Buddha on Saturday, September 20, will feature musicians that work with the bigfix label – like Hooperstar and Christian Coulter (Love Pony) – along with bigfix friends and collaborators, tex & the renegades. The event, which starts at 9:30, will also hold a raffle that includes the grand prize 4 hour recording session in the bigfix studio. Other donations to the event have been made by Long and McQuaid and Delight, the organic chocolate boutique from the Junction. |
