Andrea Ledwell loves live music but knows nothing about video games. Mark Rathwell adores video games. This is a description of their experience at the Video Game Tribute Night held at The Boat on April 7.

Friday April 21 Margot Van Sluytman launches Dance with Your Healing at the AWOL Gallery, 78 Ossington Ave 7pm.

Saturday April 22 West Toronto Paint & Wallpaper is opening their new in-store fine arts gallery. Gallery OneZedTwo will offer customers original art for home and office. Launch party starts at 5pm. Come and meet the artists and have a drink. 2975 Dundas Street West in the Junction.

Sunday April 23rd Lisa Swain (“Lisa Swain's voice will ring in your head with longing, self-discovery and desire.”) and A Plot Against Me (“A Plot Against Me is 2 guys playing dirty rock n' roll, partying, and remaining true to their nature: beer-drinkin'-no-bullshit-in-your-face-rock-n'-rollin'-five-and-a-half-feet-tall-measurin'-space-monkeys). Double bill at the Reverb 651 Queen Street West .

 

The full title of the painting which inspired our magazine title is Homo sapiens, Lepidium sativum and Calliphora vomitoria - a wise man, some cress, and a bluebottle. It is the work of British artist Stuart Pearson Wright.
