Friday June 2 sees the launch of Taddle Creek's “fabulous, colourful, summer 2006 issue” with brief readings by Suzanne Alyssa Andrew, someone else, and Kevin Connolly; a barbeque (meat and non), by Doug; and ice lollies, by Popsicle. The Cadillac Lounge, 1296 Queen Street West , 8pm .

This Saturday at Queen's Park drumming troupes from the zone and around the world perform at the International Drumming Festival from noon into the evening both Saturday and Sunday.

The full title of the painting which inspired our magazine title is Homo sapiens, Lepidium sativum and Calliphora vomitoria - a wise man, some cress, and a bluebottle. It is the work of British artist Stuart Pearson Wright.
