Grassy Narrows - A film...

An indigenous community called Grassy Narrows First Nation is being subjected to human rights abuses.

Rainforest Action Network and Forest Ethics will screen David Clement's film, As Long as the Rivers Flow: The Grassy Narrows Blockade Story, this Thursday, June 22 at the Concord Café, 937 Bloor St W , ( one block west of Ossington).

Jen Bulthuis just opened an artshow at Katharine Mulherin's slideshow, 1080 Queen Queen St W. The show is called "the Cinderella Project" and it is open Thursday, June 22 until Sunday, June 25, 12-5pm. It is a series of prints put together into a flipbook based on her personal life and that of Ashputtle ( Cinderella).

Gergie Donais is having a public meeting at Dufferin Grove Park on Sunday, June 25 about a project to create a cob washroom with a composting toilet for the playground area.

The full title of the painting which inspired our magazine title is Homo sapiens, Lepidium sativum and Calliphora vomitoria - a wise man, some cress, and a bluebottle. It is the work of British artist Stuart Pearson Wright.

"At the end of the first sitting, the Prince inspected the work and exclaimed 'godzooks' or 'godzounds', the artist was too alarmed to remember which."
