David Goldberg (one of the people in our neighbourhood) is having a show at Engine Gallery, 1112 Queen Street West (at Dovercourt). Opens Thursday, June 29 . Check out David's blog.

Also on Thursday, June 29 a reading at It's Not a Del. Hot-Sauced Words: interactive poetry/spokenword event hosted by Creative James Dewar, featuring a.rawlings, who will read from Wide slumber for lepidopterists, and Gregory Betts, reading from his first book of poetry If Language. It's Not a Deli, 986 Queen Street West , 8:30pm.

Mitzi's Sister is promoting Parkdale Music 3 with John Southworth, Matty Powell, Royal Wood & Steve Angel and special guests on Monday, July 3.

The full title of the painting which inspired our magazine title is Homo sapiens, Lepidium sativum and Calliphora vomitoria - a wise man, some cress, and a bluebottle. It is the work of British artist Stuart Pearson Wright.

"At the end of the first sitting, the Prince inspected the work and exclaimed 'godzooks' or 'godzounds', the artist was too alarmed to remember which."
