With all this talk about Spam-a-lot we thought we would mislead you with our top story...

I used to hate spam. What with all the satisfy-your-girlfriend-with-your-huge-cock-all-women-love-guys-with-Louisville-Sluggers sales pitches and, of course, ads for chewable Cialis tabs to keep that monster hard, who wouldn’t be pissed off.

Brother can you lend a hand...

So I broke my ankle a month ago. Nothing too dramatic. For the last month, there has been a fibre-glass cast on my right leg and I’ve been using crutches to get around. Something entirely new for mex

When I came to Toronto six months ago, I was pretty excited at all the possible music-going adventures that the city presented to me.

On Saturday, July 22 at the Fukhouse (can they name them or what?!) catch Frank Martiniq from Cologne, Germany in his first Canadian performance, alongside Noah Pred’s live show and Fukhouse residents Ian Guthrie and Eric Downer. 425 Adelaide Street West, $15 before 11:30.

Camoes, the One-Eyed Poet of Portugal is the fourth show in Clay and Paper Theatre’s Building Local Stories program. “Narrated by the one-eyed adventurer, soldier and poet himself, Camoes, the One-Eyed Poet of Portugal will sing the praises of the Portuguese who have come to our community. It will fill the park air with the songs of the Fado. Gigantones and Cabecudos (giant puppets and big head puppets) will recall and connect the Portuguese parade tradition with ours, and the smell of the barbequed sardines will mingle with the smell of fresh corn bread baked in the Dufferin Grove Park bake oven, itself inspired by the village ovens in Portugal.” Previews: Wednesday, July 19 and Thursday, July 20, Opening Night: July 21st. Wednesday to Sunday, July 21 to August 13 at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, July 23 come to the Haunted Fishtank, with poetry, spoken word, singer/songwriters, comedians, burlesque dancers, thespians (oh, my!), magicians and more, hosted by Josh Haggarty. Gladstone Hotel Art Bar 1214 Queen Street West, 9pm, $5.

The full title of the painting which inspired our magazine title is Homo sapiens, Lepidium sativum and Calliphora vomitoria - a wise man, some cress, and a bluebottle. It is the work of British artist Stuart Pearson Wright.

"At the end of the first sitJating, the Prince inspected the work and exclaimed 'godzooks' or 'godzounds', the artist was too alarmed to remember which."
