to main episode DIY bike lanes Sometime last night these do-it-yourself bicycle lanes appeared on Queen Street West stretching from at least Strachan to just before Bathurst. The city should take heed. Whoever painted them, while not exactly straight, made damn sure they were nice and wide, wider than the officially sanctioned bike lanes. They even painted in broken lines for turning cars. Spectator sport Last week at Dundas and Ossington, the best after-church-before-sports-bar entertainment was the pouring of concrete for the new streetcar tracks. There was quite the gathering as working poured and smoothed the new pavement. However there were no cries of “olé” as the men went about their work. The attention of the crowd became even more focused as the crew attempted to place some scaffolding onto a flatbed with a forklift that really wasn't up to the job. Suggestions On Queen West near Soho this box appeared a couple of weeks ago and people are taking advantage of the opportunity. We only borrowed the submissions. We returned them to the box the same day and added our own (secret) suggestions. You should too. |
