This is Mike Lummis

Where did you grow up? Why?

I grew up in Toronto in The Beach area. People call it the Beaches, but my mom and her friends who grew up there insist that it's The Beach. Why did I grow up there? Because both my parents grew up in the neighbourhood.

How long have you been in Toronto?

I've been in Toronto my whole life.

What keeps you busy?

My acting. If I'm not in something, I try to work on my craft by reading plays aloud, which is great for the voice. I'm also co-writing a comedy series

What do you do for a living?

I act for a living.

Dream job? Why?

My dream job would be doing a film where I star opposite Anthony Hopkins. It used to be Jack Lemmon, before he passed away. Why? Because I would learn so much. It'd be like a tennis player hitting the ball around with Roger Federer.

If I say jump?

I say, " Homie don't play that."

What do you give back to the No Fly Zone?

I give back to the No Fly Zone my presence as a homegrown artist.

What can we do to make Toronto a "world-class" city?

To make Toronto a world-class city we need to let it flourish in every way.

Are you an artist?

Yes. I'm an artist.

Hands or feet?

Hands. I find that when I really look at feet...they look bizarre.

How does art influence your life?

Art influences my life constantly. It's all I think about. I'm hard wired to be an artist.

Worst public moment?

My worst public moment was at a rehearsal for a play, we all gathered around our director and my buddy told me a joke. I cracked up and unintentionally farted. To make things worse, I actually said, "Whoops." Not good.

Who are your favorite Toronto artists?

My favourite Toronto artists are Margaret Atwood, The Old SCTV gang, Neil Young, Mike Myers, Jim Carrey and Norman Jewison.

Two Beatles left: Ringo and Paul. Who wins in a smackdown?

Ringo, for sure. Don't mess with the drummer.

Follow up: Favourite Ringo song?

Sadly, I don't know which Beatles songs are his.

G.I. Joe, Transformers, Star Wars and (if you remember them) the Micronauts? discuss.

I loved GI JOE as a kid. My uncle made me a little helicopter for him. Transformers didn't really do much for me. I remember seeing Star Wars at the Uptown back in the seventies. Micronauts????
