The third Toronto Comic Arts Festival happens on Saturday, August 18, and Sunday, August 19, in the Old Victoria College building and the Burwash Quad on the University of Toronto Campus. “The Toronto Comic Arts Festival exists to promote the breadth and diversity of comics, and what is considered comics, as legitimate medium of literary and artistic worth. We seek to promote the creators of these works in their broad and diverse voices, for the betterment of the medium of comics and to reach as wide an audience as possible for them.”

Monday, August 20 (and every Monday), at Grossman's Tavern hear Laura Hubert play some jazzy swing.

Tuesday, August 21, The Art Bar Poetry Series welcomes featured readers Chris Banks, Teresa Dunat Banks and Chris Michalski at Clinton’s Tavern, 693 Bloor Street West, 8pm, free


 











The full title of the painting which inspired our magazine title is Homo sapiens, Lepidium sativum and Calliphora vomitoria - a wise man, some cress, and a bluebottle. It is the work of British artist Stuart Pearson Wright.
